Workshop with Henrik Kubel
curated by Mario Piazza
from tuesday the 6th to friday the 9th of October 2009
Programme. Books fill our environments, our days, they are part of our house furnishing and of the cultural context we build day by day. They are instruments to be observed and investigated. To be touched and admired. Yet how is a book designed? the workshop aims to investigate precisely this area of graphic design projects, by starting from the idea of a system: the totality and the part; covers as manifestos, as commercial appetizers, and book interiors as material for studying and reading. The format, the cage, the paper, the printing techniques. The graphic, textual and iconographic apparatuses which all participate in the building of a system that is both content and form.
- The workshop does feature instant translation into Italian,
- a tutor will be present and available for all participants
- The maximum number of participants in the workshop is 25
